Until 2000, Kenya Cooperative Creameries (KCC) & Rift Valley Textiles East Africa (Rivatex) football clubs made the agricultural town a centre of exhilarating matches as businesses were brought to a standstill almost every weekend with games being played to a fully packed Kipchoge Keino Stadium.
