President Uhuru Kenyatta laid the foundation stone for the construction of New KCC’s Nyambene Milk Plant. The milk plant which will be built at a cost of Sh250 million, will have a holding capacity of 100,000 litres and is expected to be completed by October of this year.
Addressing thousands of Meru residents who turned up to witness the ground breaking ceremony for the cooling plant, the President advised dairy farmers in the area to take advantage of the facility once its construction is completed to increase their milk production and thereby improve their welfare.
